My name is David Simmons. I had Ms. Goffas as my 6th grade teacher in Salem Grade School way back, it must have been 1970. I was always the talkative one in her class. I believe she had my younger sisters as well and it was always, oh, you are David's sister! I have many great memories of her as a teacher, some truly hilarious. Those memories make me smile thinking of her. I wish I had a copy of our class picture. Thank you for sharing.
I am a retired Mt. Zion teacher as was Rosalie. My husband Chris also retired from the same school district. I did not teach in her building but met her at meetings. Christine Kareotes, the choir director at the Greek Orthodox church in Decatur, kept in touch with Rosalie.
