Decatur-Rosemary Donahue, 92, of Decatur, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Rosemary’s life will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church, 742 E. Clay St., with Father Robert Spriggs, Celebrant. Visitation will be for 30 minutes prior to the mass at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sts. James & Patrick or the Macon County Historical Society.
Rosemary was born March 12, 1919 in Chicago the daughter of Daniel and Anne Waters Donahue. She attended public and parochial schools in Chicago and Charleston. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University and received her master degrees at the University of Michigan. She taught in the Decatur public schools for fourteen years then served as the first coordinator of library services for the school district. She retired in 1977 after thirty-six years of service. She was a member of Sts. James & Patrick Parish, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Altrusa Club International of Decatur, Lambda Tau Delta Sorority, Macon County Historical Society, Decatur Area Retired Teachers Association, and Continental Club.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents and brother, Daniel.
