I am a granddaughter of Maxine's, and missed a couple edits when we were reviewing the draft for the obituary. I want to clarify information in the paragraph about who she leaves behind. It should say:"She leaves behind her son Larry Mayer, grandchildren Andrea Mayer, Nathan Mayer, Michelle (Zack) Kemp, and Kyle (Kristen) Mayer, great-grandchildren Lauren, Katelynn, Melissa, and Christopher, four (of five) stepchildren, a brother, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren and friends."It was my wish to list her stepchildren (or even leave "step" out completely), but I do not currently have spellings for all the names. I am one of Maxine's granddaughters. I missed a couple edits in the obituary, and wish to clarify: she is one of 5 kids: 3 girls and 2 boys. She leaves behind her son, Larry Mayer, and four (of five) step-children. Diane Uher and Carla Hopkins are two, and I wished to list the others, but I didn't have accurate spellings.
I was Maxines cleaning lady once a month and became very close to her. She was a wonderful person and I always enjoyed talking to her and bringing her baked goodies on the day I cleaned, she always loved them. I will really miss her and am so glad I got to know her. Sincerely, Barb Peoples
