Truly enjoyed my time speaking with Scott over the years. He was a great person and he loved his family so much. Paula and family, my sincere condolences!
Paula & Scott's family...I saddened to read about Scott's passing back in February. I always enjoyed visiting with Scott when the both of you would patronize the Downtown Cafe. He always had time to share with the customers on his way to sit down at a table with you Paula. In addition, I also enjoyed Doug Wolfe and him on the radio. Several times I would visit with him privately about a recent broadcast on a particular subject.
He was a wonderful asset to Decatur and will be missed in so many ways. I am happy for Scott and you that the both of you were able to spend at least some of your retirements in AL. But honestly I hated to see the both of you leave Decatur. There is no doubt that he left many wonderful memories with the Decatur community. I also want to apologize as we are still wintering in FL and do not return until after Scott's services. I do not enjoy missing a person's funeral that if I were in Decatur I would have attended.
Once again...I am so sorry to all of you in Scott's family about his passing. You have my deepest sympathy.
I met Scott many many years ago when he worked at WSOY at the old building on Pershing. Knew him most of my adult life, his lovely daughter married one of my dearest friends, Shawn.
Fondest memory was us going over to Springfield to watch KISS. He had a car that he had just purchased. It was a 20 year old boat that was 30 foot long, but he was proud of it and the bargain he got on it. Lol.
A great guy, great community asset that will be missed.
