Shane Allan Tatum's Obituary
Shane Allan Tatum, 32, of Ohio, formerly of Decatur, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008.
Shane was born January 13, 1976, in Decatur, the son of Morris and Carol White Tatum. A 1994 graduate of MacArthur High School, Shane continued his studies and played baseball at Kaskaskia Junior College and then Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing. Shane married Allison Marie Sanders on November 22, 2006 in St. Louis, MO.
Surviving are his wife, Allison; children: Harrison, Reid and Witt; parents: Morris “Moose” and Carol Tatum; brother, Corey Heather Tatum; niece, Ciara; nephew, Preston; many aunts and uncles including: Donnie Sue Tatum, Jerry Tatum, Kenneth Tatum, Libby Sam James, Marsha Carl Huffman, Debra Graza Hawkins, Todd “Edward” Tatum, Billy White, Linda Steve Kalsow, Shirley Crist Paceley and Renata Schwartz; grandmother, Alice White; and a host of other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy White and uncle, Billy Tatum.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a funeral service at 11 am Friday, October 31, 2008 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shane Tatum Scholarship Fund for his children in c/o Land of Lincoln Credit Union, 2890 N. Oakland Decatur, IL, 62526.
Shane was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He loved playing baseball, golf and the St. Louis Cardinals.
