Shirley May Lovelace's Obituary
Decatur-Shirley May Lovelace, 78, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in her home.
Shirley was born June 19, 1936 at home in Fayette County, Illinois, the daughter of Bill and Doris (Austin) Bolt. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. Shirley was a member of the Christian Twin Churches. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, gardening, reading, and traveling North America with her husband in their RV. She married Charles “Bud” Lovelace on February 5, 1955 in Vandalia by Pastor George Blankenship.
Shirley leaves behind her cousins Shelby Strickland of Decatur and Dick Beck of Arkansas, sisters-in-law Loretta Wiman and husband Warren of Newton and Cathy Lovelace and husband Larry of Apache Junction, Arizona, nephews Robert Gochanour of Apache Junction, Arizona, nieces Kristy Recchia and husband Joe of Erie, Colorado and Amy Wiman McPherson and husband Tyler of Englewood, Colorado, three great-nieces, three great-nephews, one great-great-niece, and one great-great-nephew.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Noel Brent Bolt, and beloved dog Clyde.
Services to celebrate Shirley’s life will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Ramsey Cemetery in Ramsey. Memorials are suggested to the Decatur Memorial Hospital Foundation.
