Brandon Wood
She was my Great Aunt B. Emphasis on Great! In my earliest years, she babysat for me while my parents were out and those countless hours in her company quietly sharpened my sense of humor and shaped the way I see the world.
When I ran away from home at eighteen, she opened her door without hesitation. She stood beside me through the painful, stumbling process of becoming an adult and helped carry me through one of the darkest chapters of my life. In later years we drifted apart. Despite my repeated attempts after 2017 through Facebook, email, text, and mutual family; to reconnect and finally repay her kindness now that I was in a position to do so, I never heard back. I’m certain she had her reasons. I love her dearly and I miss her still. May she rest in peace, reunited with those who left this world before her. As she would jokingly request “When I pass; Pour some out for me” Love you Aunt B!
