Timothy Patrick McFadden's Obituary
Timothy Patrick McFadden, 73, of Decatur, IL died Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 14, 1950, in Decatur, IL to William McFadden and Faye (Bonham) McFadden.
A lifetime resident of Decatur, Tim attended St. Patrick School, played football at St. Teresa High School, and earned a BA from Millikin University. He worked in Corrections for the State of Illinois and married Debbie Jane Boeder on October 8, 1989, in Allerton Park, Monticello, IL. Tim was frequently found on a rugby pitch or lake, but he always said all he really needed was church, a library and a gym. None of us would be who we are today without him.
Surviving are his sons, Patrick (Ronni) McFadden of Cerro Gordo, IL; Larry (Jinny) Johnson of Camuy, PR; daughters Kelly (Mike) Jozsa of Decatur, IL; Maeve (Keenan) McFadden of Bethel Park, PA: brothers Kelly (Linda) McFadden of Columbia, MD; Shaun (Jeannie) McFadden of Decatur, IL; sisters Molly (Phil) Keener of Rockledge, FL, Maura (Rick) Potter of Rockledge, FL; eighteen nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother William James McFadden, parents, daughter Kathleen McFadden, and wife Debbie McFadden.
The family of Timothy Patrick McFadden is being served by Moran and Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N Monroe, Decatur, IL 62526. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 27, 2024, at St Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at Boiling springs Cemetery.
Memorial gifts are suggested to Saints James and Patrick Parish, the Wildlife Conservation Society, Save the Children, or Minocqua Dragon Boat Festival Paddler’s Pledge Program.
