I'm very sorry to hear about your mom, Maura. My prayers are with your family at this time.Brenda LeCrone Seaberg
Faye was a loyal and caring friend to my mother, Delores, during her long illness. And she was very kind to me when I needed it. As the eldest child, a lot of responsibility fell on my shoulders as Mom's health failed. Faye, Mary Grigsby, and other friends of my mother's realized that even as I tried to carry grown-up burdens, I, too, was a child losing my mother. I will always be grateful for her kindness. On a lighter note, I always felt welcome in the McFadden home. Molly was a good friend and we spent lots of time at her house on Cobb Ave. or our house on Wood Street.Faye had an outrageous sense of humor and all of the girls thought she was glamorous. I still have – and use – some of the recipes Faye gave my mother.Janice Farrell Pea
My Mother was very devoted to her six children. She loved each of us for our individual qualities. Mom was funny, never new a stranger, and ready for anything, To help me be less shy she gave me dancing lessons, swimming lessons, and encouraged me to participate in numerous extracurricular school activities. I was use to being the only girl in the family for so long, that when she and Dad had their "surprise" baby, Maura, I was ecstatic. Several months later she said to me "I haven't spent much time with you lately, lets go to the movies". I still love the movies. At times, when I dearly needed one, she was my best friend. I was fortunate to have such loving parents. Mom used to say she danced her way through youth. I do hope she and Dad are dancing once again.
