Virginia was my traveling 'buddy' for many years; we went to many conferences together. She was always a truly, from her heart, a kind and thoughtful person. I will miss her. I was sorry I missed knowing about her death, and didn't see her obituary until Wednesday afternoon, missing her funeral. These are only a few of the nieces and nephews, plus the great and great-great, who could gather for Christmas with Virginia in Columbus, Indiana. These are only some of the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of older sister Martha Jeanne (Cashen) Markwell. Christmas was one of Virginia's favorite times of years with the family. Attending Midnight Mass was also great fun, as we wassailed our way to St. Bartholomew with lanterns, all singing very off-key. These are very treasured moments with Aunt Ginny, who we loved and adored so much. We will miss her so much.

Virginia was a great friend to my mom, Sue. Mom will say they were friends for 70 years and that is true. This past year has allowed them to continue their friendship at Imboden as well. Virginia was a great person and we will miss her.Nancy & Randy Helms

Aunt Ginny was a very blessed being with a fantastic Irish sense of humor and great story-telling abilities. We stayed up many a night till 3 or 4 in the morning, and she was still able to be up to go to church by 8:00 a.m. She very luckily had good health and zest for life almost right up to the very end. But she was well aware of her reward in heaven. We all loved and adored her dearly, and she will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered. Love from Sandy, Mark, and Drew Hundley in Columbus, Indiana
