Virginia Marie Markwell's Obituary
Virginia M. Markwell, 87, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Imboden Creek Living Center.
Virginia was born October 27, 1927, in Decatur, to John Lawrence and Catherine Aline (McLean) Cashen. She married Charles Markwell. She retired from Millikin National Bank. She was a dedicated member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and participated in many prayer groups.
She is survived by her brother, Phillip Cashen of Joliet; three step-children, Steve Markwell of Evansville, IN, Michael Markwell of Decatur and Timothy Markwell of Rickreall, OR; ten step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her special friend, Sue.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; her brother, Jerome L. Cashen and her sister, Martha Jean Markwell.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 noon Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday at the church. Burial will be Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, St. Teresa High School or Catholic Radio WDCR 88.9.
