Virginia was such a dear friend over the years. Her love of music, of family history, and of the gospel was such an inspiration – and her ever-ready glowing smile and enthusiastic greeting and expression of love will never be forgotten. We look forward to greeting you again in the eternal realms. Decatur, IL US
My earliest memories of Sister Six were from the Chruch building on King Street in Decatur. She directed the music, sang and gave "long" prayers. I was always impressed because I was told she knew nothing about music before she joined the Church. She was probably the one that taught me how to direct music. When she moved to Brigham City, she give me her metranome because my children were taking music lessons. It still sits on my piano. The funniest thing I remember about her is when she told me that when she was young, she and her friends used to "hop" freight trains. I was probably a young teenager at the time and she seemed "too old" for that.I remember she was always helping. She was still helping me the last few times I saw her. She helped my sister and I dress my mom for her burial and helped organized the meal for the family after the funeral.I will always remember her smile and her wonderful laugh. Terre Haute, IN US
Sister Six will always be special to our family. We are so thankful that we had the chance to get to know her when we lived in Decatur. She was such a dear friend. We had so many great times together, and we always ended up having a good laugh. I loved her sense of humor. She was a lot of fun and a wonderful example to our family. Wamego, KS US
My husband Keith Purdy and his mother Florence Chatham knew Virginia when they lived in Decatur. This is long before I knew my husband. She was a great support to my Mother-in-law when she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am the President of the Six Family Association, a responsibility passed on to me by my father Richard Six. My father said he had several good conversations with Virginia about family history. I am very sorry to hear about her passing. I tried on several occasions to phone her with no luck. Again, I am so sorry. I know she will be missed by many who knew and loved her. Gilbert, AZ US

"Sister Six" will always have a special place in my heart. She taught me how to follow the music director as an organist and was my favorite music director. I always loved playing for her. She was one of my mother's best friends and always made me feel special. Taylorville, IL US
