Wilber Leonard Reed's Obituary
Wilber Leonard Reed, Jr., 69, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side.
Leonard was born May 27, 1947, in Decatur, IL, to Wilber Leonard and Mildred Louise (Bush) Reed. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Elsie G. Clifton August 18, 1972 in Bethany, IL. They later divorced. Leonard loved wood working, but most of all, spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters, Desirae (Jim) Hardy of Waterloo, IL and Samantha (Ben Purdue) Reed of Rantoul, IL; his mother, Mildred Reed of Decatur; and one sister, Jackie (Denton) Larimore of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Honoring Leonard Reed’s wishes cremation services will be provided by the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2801 N. Monroe St. Decatur, IL. A celebration of Leonard’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home.
