My heart just breaks for you all. Bill was so wonderful to me when Missy and I were growing up together. Always had the most fun when I got to sleep over. Bill and Linda both loved me like their own and I will always cherish those times.
Bill was a dear friend. I worked with Bill for 35 years at Caterpillar, he was my fishing buddy and co- owner of the Queen Mary “boat”. We spent many hours on lakes at Shelbyville and Mark Twain, harvesting thousands of crappie and bluegills. 😉, Bill was always ready to help whenever I got in trouble on special projects. Sylvia and I enjoyed many good times together with Bill and Linda. He will be missed!

Today, we honor the memory of Bill Busbey, a beloved friend who was like a grandad to my children.
Bill was a remarkable person who brought joy, kindness, wisdom, and countless cherished moments into our lives. He had a unique way of making every outing with my kids an adventure. Whether it was mini golf, bowling, or fishing, he always knew how to make these experiences unforgettable. My children will forever remember the fun times they had, the lessons they learned, and the love they felt during these special moments.
One of their favorite traditions was going to Steak 'n Shake for grilled cheese and shakes. Bill had a knack for turning a simple meal into a delightful event, filled with stories, laughter, and lots of love. These outings were more than just fun; they were a testament to the bond he shared with my children and the joy he brought into their lives.
Bill was more than a friend; he was family. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering support made a lasting impact on all of us. He took care of us and showed the value of friendship, the joy of simple pleasures, and the importance of spending quality time with loved ones.
Though Bill is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear. We will always cherish the times we spent together and strive to honor his legacy by living with the same kindness and joy he showed us.
Rest in peace, dear friend. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will forever be a part of our hearts.

As a past member of Our Lady of Lourdes church, I could always count on Bill's warm smile as he greeted me and others attending Mass early Sunday on mornings. My sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.

Bill was my brother and mine American dad. So great memories with him and Linda that will forever remembered by our family. Ice cream making... He encouraged me to ride 6 Flags rollercoasters and my last memory with him was the lovely Mexican dinner we had in Champaign 2 years ago. My sincere condolences to Linda and her beautiful family.
