I knew Joe since 1987 when he owned a comic book store in Mt.Zion and Downtown Decatur, Ill. Every Thursday we played Chess and Card games, he was a good friend, may you find rest in our Lord Jesus Christ, your memories will be always remembered. Your Friend, Tony Kunz
I was glad to know and call Joe a friend. It has been many years since I seen him last and that is my loss. I am sorry to hear of his passing but rest assured we will all see him again.

I went through school with Joe, eight years at St. Patrick's and four years of high school at St. Teresa. He was always a kind and humble person, the kind of person Jesus told us that He welcomed in heaven. Now Joe is there in his eternal reward, smiling that famous smile of his. I last talked with Joe years ago at a class reunion and was delighted to hear he had found his niche, not only as a musician, but by putting his comic book knowledge into building a small business. From time to time, I would use Joe as an example when I talked to kids in the inner city about God giving each of us a unique set of gifts and the importance of recognizing those gifts and using them. Sorry to.hear about the passing of Joe I remember many nights up at the Comic Shop and Beyond Hobbies and Games role playing and having fun with the group. Joe was a good man and gave 100% in all he did to.some he seemed different to those of us that knew him we seen him as a trusted friend. Joe your in heaven now you have earned your rest. I am awfully sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I have been friends with him for 25 years now. I have so many fond memories of Joe and wish I could write them all down here, but there wouldn't be enough space to write all of them down. I will never forget his talent with the guitar, his passion for writing and exploring the creativity of his own imagination. He was a gentle soul and filled full of compassion. He would have given everything he had to help a friend, and did so very often. He was one of the best people I knew. The world is much worse off for not having him in it. My children loved him and my whole family considered him as a friend. He was often a part of our family's outings. I will miss him tremendously! Anything you need and I'll be there.
