Gail Lynn James, 79, of Decatur, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at Park Pointe Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Morris, IL, surrounded by her family.
Gail was born April 21, 1938, in Chicago, IL, to Royal and Eva (Cunefare) Brooks. She married David Hamilton James on September 28, 1958, in Newton, IL. He passed away April 15, 2007.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Edward) Wrigley of Morris, IL; two grandchildren, Scott Wrigley of Fort Collins, CO and Nicole (Ciarán) McCann of Stokedale, N.C.; and one brother, Gary (Alita) Brooks of Effingham, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David; and two sons, Brian and Bradley James.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Gail James will be 1 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday before the service. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Cancer Care Center Specialists of Illinois, American Cancer Society, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

  2. Gail was a good friend and we had a lot of fun together in a Florida. We rode motorcycles together in the beginning but later on we shopped. We went to Russia together. To her family you were her life and she loved you all dearly and was very proud of each of you. My prayers are with you all for Gods peace and strength as you go through this time of loss.

  3. Gail and I were long time friends. We rode motorcycles and played Bingo together for years. I will miss her terribly Teresa and family I am so sorry. She was a wonderful person and even better friend.

We met Gail a few years ago at El Rodeo in Decatur – she was friendly as am I & we would see her almost every week until the last year when I was having health issues & I had no idea she was having some too – she was very caring, generous & a lot of fun – my husband Don & I will miss seeing her around – we were shocked to see her in the obits column this morning. Praying for your family!
