Lisa Ellen Dodson, 58, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday evening, March 21, 2018, at St. John’s Hosptial in Springfield, surrounded by her loving family.

Lisa was born March 19, 1960, in Decatur, to Robert Olen and Loretta June (Todd) Jestis. She married James “Tony” Dodson on August 23, 2006 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Lisa was an amazing woman who will be remembered as the most selfless person. She never met a stranger and was kind to everyone she came across. Lisa had steadfast faith and love in God. She enjoyed being home with her baby boy, Sarge, but most of all she loved spending time with friends and family, especially her best buddy, “Nate the Great”.

She is survived by her husband, Tony; her two children, Megan (Alan Dralle) Fiebig of El Paso, IL and Jim “Big Jim” (Heather) Dodson of Decatur, IL; her grandson, Nathan “Nate the Great” Fiebig; her sister, Sandra (Morris) Earl of Sun City, FL; her three brothers, Michael (Karen) Jestis of Snowflake, AZ, Richard (Billie) Jestis of Elizabethtown, KY and Steven (Sharon) Jestis of Oreana, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, David, Gerry and Sonny Jestis.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Lisa Dodson will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials in honor of her beloved nephew, may be directed to “In Memory of Mitchell Lane Dodson, Let your Light Shine Scholarship” at State Bank of Cerro Gordo 101 S Madison St, Cerro Gordo, IL 61818.

  1. Tony , was so shocked to hear of Linda's passing. You definitely was right when you said how selfless she was a very beautiful lady inside as well as out . Lisa was a great neighbor of ours on Arther ct Lisa was a stay at home with her daughter Megan then I had two little girls Stacey and Cara we shared a lot of time in the back yard watching our girls grow up that was a great time and a memory of Lisa that I will always carry with me .oh what great loving and caring mom she was and will be dearly Missed. our condolences from the ARNOLD FAMILY I WILL ALWAYS MISS YOU AT THE BANK ALSO

  8. Lisa just wasn’t my boss she was my friend, my mentor and looked out for me like I was another daughter to her for 3 years as if she knew me my entire life. I love what I do and I’m so thankful and grateful of the path I’ve taken & people I’ve met her being the most positive influence I’ve ever had in an work environment … I haven’t settled because my drive will never stop and she encouraged me daily!

  9. Lisa was a great and hard worker. She was my co-worker for 5 years at Woodforest National Bank. One great memory I have of lisa, was my first day of work she made me a pan of brownies. If anyone knew lisa she loved to bake. She will truly be missed.
