Patricia Louise “Patty” Hansen

Decatur – Patricia L. “Patty” Hansen, 65, of Decatur, passed away peacefully in her home with family by her side Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 2:51 AM.

Patty was born in Pana, IL, June 2, 1952, to John (Jack) and Helen (Einig) Lynch. Patty graduated from Pana High School and went on to graduate Suma Cum laude from Millikin University in 1984 with a BS in accounting. Patty went on to get her Certified Public Accounting accreditation from the University of Illinois that same year. Patty retired as Comptroller for the City of Decatur, IL in 2013.

Patty married Mark Hansen November 10, 1973, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Pana. They shared 44 wonderful years together with family and friends. Many years spent in the Caribbean with the last several years in the Dominican. Her favorite February place to do nothing but sun and ocean.

Patty is survived by her husband, Mark; brothers: George (Linda) Lynch of Edwardsville, Terry Lynch of St. Charles, MO; sister, Debbie (Pete) Rann of Olney, IL; uncles: Bill Lynch of Savoy, IL, Phillip (Mary Ann) Maton of Chatham, IL; several nieces and nephews along with one very special cousin, Jennifer (Charles) Walters of Champaign.

Patty was preceded in death by her mother and father; sister and best friend, Helen (Mugg) Sanderfer (John) of Springfield, MO in 2015 and her brother, Allen (Debby) Lynch of Tower Hill, IL, in 2017.

Patty had the love and unquestionable support from all of her family during a difficult time. We are so grateful for that love and support. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

In keeping with Patty’s wishes, cremation services will be performed. There will be no service.
