Judith "Judie" A. Giblin-Davis

Judith “Judie” A. Giblin-Davis, 80, passed away on May 17th in her home in Decatur, Illinois. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28 from 1pm to 3pm. A service will immediately follow at 3:00pm. Services will be held at Moran & Goebel with her son-in-law officiating. Judie was born on July 20, 1941, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Louis and Ruth (Watson) Brand. She was the last of five girls. She graduated from St. Teresa High School in 1959. She worked at Anna Waters Head Start 17 years as a special needs teacher. She also worked at Baby Talk as a foster grandparent for 8 years. Judie loved all kids like her own. She loved her shows Judge Judy and Dr. Phil. She married Richard “Stanley” Davis in 1988. They shared 34 years of marriage. Judie is survived by: her husband Richard Stanley Davis; her children Louis Lahr (Margo) of Decatur, Loretta Lahr of Decatur, Tyler Davis of Clarksville, TN, Jennifer (Jeff) Kibler of El Paso, Rachael Brown of North Carolina, Toni (Kyle) Anderson (Lahr) of Decatur, Markus Lahr (Phoenix) of Decatur, and Carla Neideffer of Decatur; stepchildren Bobby (Melissa) Davis of Jacksonville and Theresa Clark of Champaign; grandchildren Jessica (Isaiah) Wichert, Semaj, Carter, Ella, Elijah, Mandy, Amber, Christopher, Craig, Sarah, Alexis, and Abby; great-grandchildren Alex, Jesse, Hunter, Harlyn, Ben, Rowan, and Emma; and sister Patsy Erhart of Des Plaines. Judie was preceded in death by her mother Ruth (Watson) Brand, her father Louis Brand, her son Robert “Tony” Anthony Lahr, her sisters Mary Lou Brand, Bettie Mae Taphorn, and Ruth Austin, stepson Allen Davis, and granddaughter Jenna Rose.
