Scroll of Life William “Lee” Wilder Sr. departed this life into eternity on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 6:35 am with family and loved ones by his side at Decatur Memorial Hospital. William Lee Wilder Sr. was born on Sunday, May 24, 1953 in Brownsville TN by the union of Sidney & Ethel Mae Wilder Sr. Lee grew up in Brownsville, TN and was baptized at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church, he attended public schools in Brownsville TN before moving to Decatur, IL. and attended MacArthur High School and finished his schooling at Richland Community College. Lee married his high school sweetheart, Ann M. Wilson, his wife of 27 years, and by their union, 5 children were born: Marletta Verle, JaCinda Marie (Jason) Wright, William (Monique) Lee Jr., Franklin Dee, Jason Lewis, and Christina Watkins. Lee was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather instilling in his family, a love of God, family, friends, education and hard work. He worked at Wagner Casting Co. before becoming employed at Archer Daniel Midland Co. (ADM) for 20 plus years where he remained until becoming self-employed. Lee met and developed a close loving relationship with fiancé Sandra Theobald until his untimely death. Lee loved attending various churches listening to Brotherhood chorus and hearing the word of God being preached. He united in fellowship with The House of Miracles under the leadership of Pastor Leon Young. Lee also loved spending time with family and friends, working in his garden and sharing its produce, telling jokes, traveling, listening to music, playing his guitar, and many other activities. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Lee leaves to cherish fond precious memories, his children, 15 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren; Sandra Theobald, ; his siblings, Sidney (Mary) Wilder Jr., Joyce (Marty) Warren, Michael (Louella) Wilder and Debra Jean Wilder, Our very special angel Christina Watkins, Billy and Sandy Minor and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends, also close friend, Ann Wilder Lee was preceded in death by both of his parents, grandparents and sister Betty Bond The family would like to thank Dr. Amber Garwood SIU, Shane Brumleve ICU nurse and everyone else for their care, prayers, thoughts, calls etc Services will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 at 11:00 am at the House of Miracles with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
